The woman who named Serafina
Emilia van Hauen is a cultural sociologist specializing in zeitgeist expressed in the modern way of life, current trends and tendencies. We are very excited that Emilia agreed to name one of our favorite ‘ladies’. She named these shoes after the witch Serafina from Philip Pullman’s The Golden Compass.
“Shoes are really a dream to me, or a vision of an identity. If you wear stilettos, you channel a certain kind of power. The word ‘stilettos’ actually comes from a weapon; an Italian narrow bladed knife. Any woman knows that when push comes to shove you can actually use your stiletto to defend yourself.”
The beauty of the roccamore-collection is that these weapons will no longer hurt the one who wears them. They truly become your ally in an everyday battle ♥ Read more

Roccamore’s comfortable high heel shoes are validated by scientific research to distribute the pressure and increase the forefoot comfort. M.D. Jeannette Penny from the Clinical Orthopaedic Research Hospital of Hvidovre tested roccamore heels against both regular stilettos and sneakers – and the results were astonishing!
“Millions of women could benefit if shoe manufactures used this knowledge to make simple modifications”
The pressure on a foot wearing roccamore shoes was measured to be 19-26% lower in the forefoot than a normal stiletto. The pressure in the arch was measured to be 44% higher, offering almost the same arch support than sneakers for a more balanced pressure distribution while walking.
