Why did the color change?

A lot of the times we get questions like “why don’t you make this shoe in this color anymore?” and  “why did the color change?”. To answer it, we decided to tell you more about the material used to create roccamore shoes.

BUYING FROM THE BIG BRANDS

As some of you might have noticed, we have recently changed the color of Midnight Daisy and created a lighter version of it, simply called Daisy. Same goes for our Charlie, whose color has switched from olive green to forest green. The explanation for this is simple: it is because roccamore is a sustainable brand, which means that we use leftover materials from other, bigger brands. There is a lot of discarded dyed leather that is left from big productions and it is rarely re-purposed for anything else, which leads to tons of perfectly good leather being wasted and burned for no good reason.

LIMITED EDITIONS

At roccamore, we try to promote sustainability by reusing the leather that would be otherwise discarded.  Because we get limited amounts of produced leather in a specific color, we can eventually run out of it and we have to look for alternatives. In the case of Daisy, we ended up producing it out of the leftover blue suede from Prada.

NOW OR NEVER

For the same reason, there are a few more models, that we unfortunately will not be bringing back, so if you want to get your hands on them, you should hurry now, as there is a very limited amount left in stock. ❤️

KAREN

Named after Karen Heidelbach, an amazing lady and the creator of CancerFamilie.dk. We decided to dedicate the shoe to her, in hope of giving her a small piece of pink happiness to help through her daughter's public and personal fight with cancer.

MARY KNIGHT

Named in honor of one of the youngest women to be appointed as a judge and which received the Knight's Cross of the Order of Dannebrog.
